1. Who we are
Type 19 Specialists operates the website type19specialists.com. We are based in Lancaster, Lancashire, United Kingdom. For data protection enquiries, contact us at contact@type19specialists.com.
2. What data we collect
We may collect the following personal data:
- Name, email address, and phone number (via our contact form)
- Order and payment information (processed securely via Stripe)
- Shipping address (for order fulfilment)
- Website and usage data, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see section 7)
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form
- Process and fulfil orders placed through our shop
- Send order confirmations and shipping updates
- Improve our website and services (anonymised analytics)
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the following legal bases: contractual necessity (order fulfilment), legitimate interest (responding to enquiries, understanding how the site is used, and measuring our advertising), and consent (marketing emails, which you opt into and can leave at any time).
5. Data retention
Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months. Order data is retained for 6 years for tax and legal compliance. Analytics data is anonymised and retained indefinitely.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Request restriction of processing
- Data portability
- Object to processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@type19specialists.com.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies for site functionality — your basket, your checkout progress, and security. These are required for the site to work.
We also use analytics and advertising cookies, which are set when you visit the site. These are Google Analytics 4, which tells us how visitors find and use the catalogue, and the Meta (Facebook) pixel, which tells us whether our advertising leads to orders. We rely on legitimate interest for these: we need to know which pages and adverts actually result in sales in order to run a small business sensibly. IP addresses are anonymised in Google Analytics.
You can refuse or delete these cookies at any time through your browser settings, and both providers offer their own controls — the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on and Meta’s ad preferences. Refusing them does not affect your ability to browse or buy. If you would prefer we did not process your usage data at all, email us and we will exclude you.
8. Third-party services
- Stripe — payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy)
- Google Analytics 4 — website analytics, IP-anonymised (Google Privacy Policy)
- Meta — advertising measurement via the Meta pixel and Conversions API (Meta Privacy Policy)
- Royal Mail and Interparcel — delivery and tracking for physical orders
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
