The two stamped-steel retaining clips that hold the Mk2 Golf 16v ignition lead carrier in place — one short (027 905 478 B), one long (027 905 478 C). Both fall off, both go missing, both have been off the VW shelves for decades. Reproduced in-house in zinc-plated spring steel to the original ETKA pattern.

  • Pressed spring steel, yellow zinc-passivated to original finish
  • Sold as a matched pair — one B and one C per set
  • Fits factory ignition lead carrier 053 905 487 A on KR and PL 16v engines

Why they go missing

The clips spring-locate the lead carrier on two pegs cast into the cam cover. Pull the carrier off in a hurry to change a plug lead and one or both clips will ping into the engine bay and never be seen again. After thirty years of plug changes, almost no surviving Mk2 has both originals still fitted.
