Type 19 specialises in restoring the Mk2 Golf 1.8 KR 16v to as-new condition. Every component is replaced using OEM manufacturers and all mating surfaces are machined. The original 1.8-litre bore size is retained, producing an engine as close to factory as is possible.

Lead time

Builds take 8 to 12 weeks from order confirmation.

  • Extended warranty (+£275) — 12 months / 12,000 miles cover
