Does it cover the S4, RS4, S6, RS6 and allroad?
Yes. The B5 catalogue is built from the A4, S4 and RS4 (Typ 8D) factory data — saloon and Avant, front-wheel-drive and quattro. The C5 catalogue covers the A6, allroad, S6 and RS6 (Typ 4B), saloon and Avant. Check the coverage table above for the exact years.
Does it cover the 2.7T biturbo?
Yes — that is exactly why these were built. The 2.7T appears on both platforms (S4/RS4 on the B5, and the A6/allroad on the C5), and the C5 catalogue also carries the S6 and RS6 4.2 V8. Every engine, gearbox, cooling and fuelling diagram for those cars is in the mechanical coverage.
Why is it split into volumes?
Because a single bound volume this size will not survive the bench. Each platform is split so no book exceeds a printable, usable thickness — the coverage table above tells you exactly which sections sit in which volume, and each volume is bought on its own.
Which volume do I need for an engine swap?
Volume 1 — Engine & Mechanical. It carries the engine, engine electrics, fuel/air and exhaust, drive and cooling, and the gearbox — everything the donor drivetrain touches. Volume 2 — Body & Electrical — is what you want for trim, lighting and cabin wiring. The coverage table above lists the exact sections in each volume.
